Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your support to our project providing food security to those affected by Typhoon Mangkhut. The main problem in the area where we are supporting which is Baggao Municipality is that the mountainsides are being planted with corn and other cash crops already and the tendency of soil erosion is always present compounding the problem of local residents. This reporting period we introduced the growing of short maturing vegetables such as water spinach which they can harvest in less than 2 weeks thereby providing much needed food, income and nutrition to poor households. We were able to distribute vegetable seeds to a total of 132 households. We will conduct technical support together with municipal technicians and barrio leaders in order to ensure that gardening is carried-out very well.
Very sincerely yours,
Jed
