Our team provided business training to 32 female artisans from Uaro-Ana, Biqueli and Vila (Atauro). During the training these women were able to develop useful business skills and learn new tools to use within their work.
For this year annual “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence” campaign we organised several activities with rural communities around Atauro. As part of it, our team visited Vila, Arlo, Makadade, Makili and Uar-uana where they talked about the significance of this campaign and the importance of men and women standing up together to say NO to Gender-based violence.
More than 120 women, men and young people joined us to shout STOP! violence against women and girls, promising that they would spread this message with their families and friends.
Getting ready for Christmas we worked with the artisans to develop new products and beautiful holiday baskets. We had a couple of intense weeks but the best part was the innovation and creativity vibe and the amazing feedback that we got from the several Christmas Market that we participated during this season.
As this will be our last update for 2018, our team would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful 2019!
