One step away, time to celebrate these amazing Artisans!

By Maria Amado | Director

It's great to have inspiring visitors
It's great to have inspiring visitors

Almost a year has passed since we launched the campaign and we are only one (baby) step away to achieve the full objective!

With your help we are supporting remote communities of Atauro island, developing new livelihoods. These communities have accomplished so much, not only by developing new livelihoods as a way of income generation but also by proudly seeing their cultural heritage and handicrafts appreciated by a greater audience.

We keep on visiting these communities each month, giving them mentoring and access to market. Each visit is pure joy, seeing how much these artisans have developed their skills and self confidence.

To celebrate these amazing artisans and this beautiful island, Empreza Di'ak will host the 2nd Atauro Handicraft Market in Dili on the 23th of June. If you are around, please join us on this very special event! Visitors will have the opportunity to know more about Atauro, its communities and culture and will have the unique chance to meet the artisans and buy handicrafts from this beautiful island. Check out the event page on Facebook!

You can follow the project on Facebook and Instagram

If you are in Timor-Leste, visit our local products’ shops in Dili and Atauro (click links for map and details), buy unique handicrafts and learn more about our beautiful country and these amazing artisans!
