Dear Friends of Twende,
We would like to take a moment to express our gratitude for your continued support of our mission to promote innovation and gender equality in STEM. Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to make significant progress in several key areas.
In our Innovation Club mentoring program, we have been able to provide mentorship to schools, including girls’ schools, where girls have been able to develop their own innovative projects. Currently, we have 16 girls working in 4 teams on different innovation projects, such as a vegetable slicer, peanut roaster, automatic bell ringer, and automatic broom. We are confident that these projects will be completed soon.
We are also proud to report that two female innovators have been utilizing our makerspace and technical advice to develop their own technologies. These include a maize peeler and thresher, as well as a coconut oil extractor. Both innovations have won prizes from the National Science and Technology Innovation competition and have secured funding for further development.
In addition, we have served a significant number of clients over the past three months through our STEM outreach, Build It, and Creative Capacity Building workshops. Of those clients, 48% have been female, including participants from mixed groups and female-only programs that were launched last year.
We appreciate your support in helping us make a difference in the lives of young girls and women. With your help, we are creating a brighter future for girls in STEM. Once again, thank you for your generosity and we look forward to continuing our work together.
Warmly,
Epifania & the Twende Team
