Twende has conducted 2 intimate STEM outreach programs to identify the groups, organizations as well as female entrepreneurs who might be a good fit for future capacity Building Workshops.
The aim of the outreach was to generate interest among the participants and involve them in what seems difficult to achieve by showing them how easy it could be to come up with solutions and design simple tech that will spark their creativity.
This exercise took place in and out of Arusha Town including rural areas where most of the people(women) we have met express their need to fill the Technology gap which is mostly encountered by women and the community at large.
During the workshop, participants learnt the fundamentals of design thinking and innovation by identifying a challenge they currently face and then developing and building their own technology to address that challenge.
These workshops are being targeted to what has traditionally been an excluded and marginalized group, to help ensure they receive the attention and educational foundation needed to help them learn to creatively solve their own problems and become contributing members of the economic community.
We are excited to be rolling this project out and we can't wait to support these women groups co-create technologies that will solve their daily challenges.
