“Family is the most precious thing we have in life, which is why the literary club in Wrocaw is so important to me. For many older people from Ukraine, it has become a kind of trust place, a caring family. In the context of forced migration, elderly women have found a space for gatherings—something they deeply miss.” – Olena
Our partnership with Pontes in Poland continues to provide vital support for Ukrainian women and their families in Warsaw, Szczecin, Katowice, osice, Huszlew, Wroclaw, and Siedlce. Now three years since the start of the war, the need for language support, mental health care, and employability training remains critical.
Over the past year alone, we have directly supported 464 women and 586 children and dependents, reaching a total of 1,050 people.
The key activities provided by this partnership are:
This work has been life-changing for many, helping them rebuild their lives and feel part of their new communities.
“These activities help us feel more integrated and supported.” – Uliana, 45
Building on the success of our work so far, we have bold ambitions for the year ahead. Our goal is not just to meet urgent needs, but to empower women and families for long-term stability.
Three years since the war began, Ukrainian families in Poland still face immense challenges—language barriers, economic insecurity, and the trauma of displacement. Yet, amidst these difficulties, hope and resilience shine through. With the right support, women are finding their voices, their confidence, and their path to independence.
Thank you for your support to WONDER! Together, we can ensure that Ukrainian families in Poland don’t just survive—but thrive.
