In our Ethiopia program we work with women to protect themselves and their families from vulnerabilities that often lead to exploitation. By joining Hope for Justice in the fight against modern slavery you will be able to support women like Shegite.
Shegite is a mother of four. Since she joined the Self-Help group, she has been able to save money to help support her family. She has a small business where she sells meals and bananas at a market. In the Self-Help group she has learned business skills and has strengthened her business though the money skills learning and loan program.
Shegite said, “Participation on small scale business and being a member on Self- Help Group Profit Gained, helped me to grow my income and provide for children’s educational materials. It also increased my awareness on benefits of saving. In a short period of time, I have got a great awareness of helping myself as a group member and feel important in my family and community.”
On behalf of all the women in our Self-Help Group program in Ethiopia, “Thank you”.
