Dear Donors, I hope this update finds you and your family in good health. Thank you for your generous support to our project Save the Future of Orphans living at MyHome Al-Mustafa. As you are aware that these few months have been very challenging for everyone out there due to the outbreak of Coronavirus and so has been the case with our organisation, but with our donors' generous support we were able to make it successfully.
During this time, the safety and well-being of the children and our staff have been our highest priority. We were closely monitoring the ongoing outbreak and as well as the health and safety guidelines from the government agencies and public health officers. The situation concerning the Covid-19 pandemic was evolved daily. As an organisation, we prioritized measures related to the monitoring, testing, treatment and delivery of medical devices and protective equipment to contain the Covid-19 outbreak. To address escalating concerns about the spread of the virus we took the following precautionary measures to safeguard children and staff while ensuring that we can effectively continue operations.
To boost the immunity of children, they are given a healthy diet including fruits and vegetables rich in healthy nutrients, a glass of milk daily and Vitamin D supplements as the physical activity and sun-exposure were minimal. Monthly medical examination by Physicians also took place and if a child gets un-well then our attendants would take him to the Pediatric Consultants.
Considering the schooling of children during this period we appointed tutors for this purpose who helped the students to complete their summer vacation school work and later helped them to continue their home-schooling. These tutors conducted the assessment and evaluation of students' progress in which all the children succeeded and the school management decided to promote them in the next grade. Other extra-curricular activities such as Martial Arts Training, Scouts Training, Sports Training and Field Trips were limited due to pandemic but the children are continuing their practice within the premises of MyHome and under the guidance of supervision of the resident staff.
Children celebrated the festivities of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha with higher management and their relatives. All the children were given Eidi (Cash Gifts), new clothes, gift packs and confectionary bags. On 14th August (Independence Day of Pakistan) Al-Mustafa Welfare Society organized a function at MyHome for children, in which they celebrated and expressed their love for their country.
We sincerely hope that you will continue to support us in our mission to save the future of these precious children with your zakat and other alms, together we can become the ray of hope for the orphans.
