November 2023 – January 2024

INTRODUCTION: During the period of November 2023 to January 2024, our project achieved its goal of training and empowering 30 youths in Beehive Components, Honey Production, and Money Management. We owe immense gratitude to the unwavering support of generous donors, whose contributions were pivotal in realizing this milestone. However, our commitment extends beyond this achievement. We are dedicated to seeking further funding to ensure sustained support for 280 youth with disabilities residing in Tavush Marz. This support will enable them to pursue sustainable livelihoods and independent living within their communities. It's important to note that out of the mentioned number, 90 are young women and men forcibly displaced from Artsakh.

PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Conducted a two-month hands-on training course for 30 youths with disabilities in remote villages of Tavush, covering Beehive Components, Honey Production, Packaging/Honey Processing, Marketing/Pricing, and Management.

•Incorporated practical elements into most training sessions under expert supervision at hive locations, facilitating experiential learning.

• Provided comprehensive knowledge and skills in beekeeping, including working with bees, maintaining honey quality, separating honey from beeswax, rendering beeswax, secondary products, manufacturing and making beekeeping clothes and equipment.

• Inspired young men and women with disabilities to collective consider starting a business leveraging knowledge.

INTRODUCTION

Over the past three reporting periods, we have made significant strides in training and empowering 30 youths in Beehive Components, Honey Production, and Money Management. The support and encouragement from individual donors like you have been instrumental in making this project a success. However, we continue to seek funding to ensure that we reach our objectives and provide these young individuals with disabilities the opportunity to earn a sustainable living and live independently in their communities.

PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS

Empowering Youth: Our project has gone beyond training and has effectively empowered these young individuals. They are now equipped with essential skills that can transform their lives.

Skill Development: We have provided hands-on training, allowing these youths to gain practical experience in working with bees, maintaining honey quality, and manufacturing secondary beekeeping products. This not only boosts their self-esteem but also opens up new opportunities for their future.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: In the past two reporting periods, we have trained 30 youths in Beehive Components, Honey Production, and Money Management. We provided practical support, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in working with bees, maintaining honey quality, and manufacturing secondary beekeeping products. This empowers them with essential skills for economic independence.

IMPACT AND CHALLENGES: Our project has had a profound impact on the lives of these youths, fostering self-confidence and purpose. However, the lack of sufficient funds remains a challenge. We have raised only $82 out of our $30,000 goal, hindering our ability to sustain and expand this life-changing initiative.
