Ghazal Asleem, an 8-year-old girl, was brought to one of SEMA’s hospitals in north of Syria as she complained from recurring pains in the left side of her waist.
After conducting examinations and radiographs, a congenital narrowing in her left ureter was detected, which led to an expansion in the kidney. This in turn would cause a blockage of urine in the ureter and the complete loss of the kidney if not treated.
The girl underwent the needed surgery, and the ureter was successfully reformed. After the surgery, the girl’s health improved, and she was referred to the recovery section before discharge.
While surgery saves the lives of the elderly, but, for children, it forms theirs.
Your continued support is the basis for a healthy life for thousands of children every year.

Unfortunately, in northern Syria hospitals operation theatres are sometimes occupied by children almost as much as by adults like the case of Nour, an 8-year-old girl, who needed a knee surgery after the deterioration of her case.
The girl was brought to our hospital complaining of imbalance while standing and walking, and of stumbling. Upon examination and conducting radiographs, it was realized that the girl was suffering from "knock knee" condition that cannot be self-corrected, which urged the medical team to conduct a surgery to treat this condition.
The surgery was successfully performed and Nour now enjoys good health while waiting to take her first steps.
Thanks for your contributions to the surgery sponsorship program, we could bring confidence back to the girl and empower her to take balanced steps.

It was worrying for her parents when the little girl Enas was not able to walk naturally and was almost limping. After visiting Wassim Hassino hospital in northern Syria and conducting the needed clinical examinations supported with radiographs, it was realized that Enas had a congenital dislocation of the hip in both sides. Following the needed consultations, Enas had a surgery in both limbs, and she was supported with a hip spica cast. Afterwards, Enas was discharged and now she has good health. She is ready to take her next steps confidently!
Your support transforms pain into hope, and that is what we want to extend to dozens of children who need your assistance to overcome their suffering.
The absolute majority of targeted children in our camps belong to families who live below poverty line. Therefore, they do not expect to undergo a surgery, even if it necessary and they resort to adapt to their pains waiting for someone's helping hand.
When you decide to support the surgery sponsorship project targeting children, you will change the life of thousands of children forever. You will be supporting the emergence of a whole healthy generation amid a fragile environment.
