No no, not another email (:
I know that feeling - each and every day we receive so many emails it literally is overwhelming. That is why I thought that for this project update I would send you a video link to our 2023 fundraising campaign for the Neonatal ICU at Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital (RMMCH). You are all familiar with the hospital since you have been supporting in your own special way through your donations and for this we are so very grateful.
This campaign is important since it continues to drive our end game of renovating this all important NICU complex. Since the launch of our Beautiful Memories Initiative, renovation work at the hospital is key to us in terms of making a real and tangible difference for the patients that are treated in this aging building as well as to the Health Professionals that work there. Each of you have made our journey along this path possible.
When I last updated you all we were renovating the registrar area and I am pleased to say that two beautiful rooms with sleep and study areas and an en-suite bathroom with shower have been completed. I have been stopped in the hospital on many an occasion by exhausted young medical staff to say thank you for this life changing space that has directly impacted their own well-being and that of the patients. Our vision of one key area at a time is making a tangible impact, but the big one remains to be realised. Please listen and share!

Finally, as I write this our food and toiletry buckets are also being loaded on to trucks to be delivered tomorrow to Rahima and other paediatric hospitals we support across the Country. Making sure that parents and children do not go hungry as they care for their sick child. These footprints of hope are thanks to you all and your amazing generosity.
So yes – this is another email – but hopefully one that leaves you with a warm hug long after you have closed it and absorbed the difference you are making in so many lives.
Warm wishes and thanks,
Melissa
