Dear Donor,
In September 2017 HAART Graduated from GlobalGiving's accelarator campaign raising $6,505.00 in a three week period. We at HAART would like to sincerely thank each and every person who took the time and money to donate to our cause. Thank you for believing in what we are doing!
More than 20,000 victims are trafficked through Kenya annually from neighboring countries including Ethiopia, Somalia and South Sudan. Worryingly, HAART Kenya is the only organisation in the country which provides a shelter for specifically young girls who have suffered severe trauma as a result of being trafficked. Kenya is a source, transit and destination for victims of human trafficking and HAART day and night to prevent trafficking of young girls. We hope that once day we can raise enough money to build our own shelter.
We will be receiving your kind donations over the next few weeks and we will be implementing the funds into out project. To remind you:
$10.00 will provide basic toiletries including sanitary towels, hand soap, etc;
$25.00 will support one therapy session;
$50.00 will provide comprehensive medical care for one girl;
$100.00 can feed twenty girls for one week
$300.00 security services for one month.
The girls will be provided with shelter for 3 months at our facility. The three months will allow the girls to go through the rehabilitation process that is centered on the specific needs of each girl that we receive. Currently the shelter can house up to 25 girls at a time. During reintegration, we work both with the family and duty bearers within the community to ensure safety when we take the girls back to the community.
Thanks once again for your support. Please get in touch if you have any questions - info@haartkenya.org
