In the aftermath of the intense war that has struck the Gaza Strip for the past 11 months, Shireen and her family found refuge in a shelter camp in Deir al-Balah after fleeing from the northern part of the Strip. Fleeing from the flames of war and destruction was not their choice; it was a necessity to escape certain death.
Shireen lives with her parents, grandmother, and three siblings in dire humanitarian conditions, lacking even the most basic necessities of life. On top of their suffering is the suffocating siege imposed on the Strip, making access to food, water, and even healthcare nearly impossible. Bread, one of the simplest human rights, has become a hard-to-reach dream for many in Gaza.
But thanks to your generous donations, we were able to provide bread for Shireen's family in these difficult circumstances. The moments of delivering the bread were filled with joy and happiness, as smiles appeared on their faces, and they felt a sense of security and comfort, even if only for a few moments. Distributing bread was not just about providing food; it was a symbol of hope and life for a family that has suffered through hard days.
Your donations have not only provided sustenance but also restored a sense of dignity and hope to this family. Your continued support is the only way to ensure this vital project remains active and reaches as many needy families in Gaza as possible.
