Among these families is that of Mohammed, along with his siblings Issam and Khawla, who live with their mother and grandparents in Masqat Camp in northern Gaza.

The three children lost their father in an airstrike a year and a half ago, and since then, they have been struggling to secure the most basic necessities. Thanks to your generous contributions, we were able to provide bread for this exhausted family. That simple act carried profound meaning. As Mohammed held the bread, it was as if it reassured him that they were not forgotten in their suffering.

While people elsewhere enjoy safety and stability, there in Gaza, children and families go to bed hungry, suffering from the aftermath of a war that left behind only pain. Buildings destroyed, dreams scattered, and families suddenly left homeless, living in camps lacking even the most basic necessities of life.

Rami, a young boy from Gaza, once dreamed of becoming an English teacher. He saw education as his future and his way out of poverty. But the war left him with nothing but sorrow and hardship. His parents were permanently disabled due to the bombing, rendering them unable to provide for the family. At just ten years old, Rami found himself bearing the responsibility for his family, striving alongside his siblings to secure a simple loaf of bread to feed an exhausted father and mother and siblings who have nothing but tears for the ruins of their demolished home.

This is not just Rami’s story; it is one of hundreds of stories we witness daily in Gaza. Souls are suspended between poverty and despair, and children like Rami have lost their childhoods and dreams under the rubble of war.

When we provided them with bread, it was not merely food to fill their stomachs but a message that they are not alone.
