Project Report | Dec 3, 2022
December Update

By Project B team | Project B team

  • DATE : 25th-November-2022
  • TIME: 6:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • SCHOOL NAME: Chan Hear Primary School
  • BICYCLES DISTRIBUTED: 33 Bicycles

BEFORE WORKSHOP:

  • Visit the Osaka Bike Shop to reserve the bikes: First, we contacted the Shop’s owner to negotiate the price and reserve bicycles for us. Then our team went to the shop to check the quality of bicycles (there were around 80 bicycles, and we chose the best 33 bicycles). We removed all the baskets because the way to school was difficult and we had small space. We kept bicycles at the shop till the day we ran the event.
  • Prepared some materials before we have a workshop: Our PB teams prepared various bike tools and flags in advance of our bike donation day to reduce any hazards. We bought and prepared school supplies such as notebooks, pens, teaching materials, and snacks a day before the bike donation day.
  • Contact the school director: We notified the school director five days before holding the event. We gave all information about the bike donation day  to the director in order to prepare students, classes, invite students’ parents, invite the chief village, and place for providing bicycles to students. We also inform him about the agenda in the event to make sure that our event will conduct smoothly.

DURING WORKSHOP:

  • TOTAL EDUCATORS: 6 Educators
  • TOTAL STUDENTS: 71 Students
  • LESSON TOPICS:  Environment and  Health Education

We started teaching from 8:10AM until 9:00 AM. We taught the students about:

  • Environment – Are you helping our environment?
  • Learn what habits can improve the environment
  • Nutrition
  • Picture of different foods from all the food group
  • Food plate has different type of fruit/food
  • Hygiene
  • Hand washing and nails cleaning
  • Bathing – Understand why they should take a bath every day

REFLECTION:

CONCLUSION AND SUMMARY REPORT –

We arrived at the school at 8:00AM. The place and classes were prepared by the teacher, so we started teaching easy and early. After, we finished the lesson; we provided the students' materials to the students who did not get the bicycles. Then we took both individual and group photos with the parents' students for students who got the bicycles. We concluded the event without incident, and Bopha and Vanna were excellent speakers. We really appreciate the efforts of the PB team. We want to express our gratitude to the school director for providing a nice location and a warm welcome for us. For every teacher who has supported us from the beginning until the end of our event. One more thing: we want to express our gratitude to our sponsor for giving us this opportunity in a rural area and hope that you will continue to support this activity. We then prepared all of our materials and transported them in a minibus. Finally, we said goodbye to every teacher and school director present that day before returning safely to Siem Reap.
