The Pool Fund for Disaster Emergency in Pakistan project was established to provide a rapid, coordinated response to various emergencies, including floods, earthquakes, and other natural or man-made disasters. The pooled resources enable swift action, ensuring affected communities receive immediate relief and long-term recovery support. This report summarizes the progress, impact, challenges, and next steps during the reporting period.
2. Objectives of the Project
- Establish a flexible and responsive funding mechanism for disaster emergencies.
- Provide immediate relief, including food, shelter, and medical assistance, to affected communities.
- Support long-term recovery and resilience-building efforts.
3. Progress Overview
3.1. Rapid Response Teams
- Deployed 02 teams within 24–48 hours of disaster events, to provide immediate support in evacuation, shelters, foods & NFIs (Non-Food items)
- Collaborated with local organizations and local & provincial Government bodies to streamline aid distribution.
3.2. Community Resilience Initiatives
- Conducted 02 disaster preparedness workshops in high-risk areas.
- Established early warning systems in collaboration with local authorities.

This report outlines the progress of the "Pool Fund for Disaster Emergency in Pakistan". The project was initiated to create a centralized fund that can be rapidly mobilized in response to natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and fires, providing immediate relief to affected communities across Pakistan. Funds were pooled through various international donors, including GlobalGiving, to ensure prompt response and support during disaster situations.
Objectives of the Project
- To establish a rapid-response disaster relief fund to provide immediate support to disaster-affected communities.
- To pool resources and donations from global donors to ensure quick and effective disaster relief efforts.
- To provide emergency supplies, temporary shelter, medical assistance, and rehabilitation support to disaster victims.
- To strengthen disaster preparedness and capacity-building efforts within local communities.
3. Funds Received from GlobalGiving
Primary Uses of Funds:

- Procurement of emergency relief supplies (food, water, medical supplies, hygiene kits).
- Provision of temporary shelter (tents, tarpaulins, blankets).
- Deployment of medical teams for emergency healthcare.
- Rehabilitation efforts including support for rebuilding homes and restoring livelihoods.
- NDF is ready & prepared to meet rain emergency during current year 2024, we have finalized strategy to support affected communities.

The Pool Fund for Disaster Emergency project in Pakistan aims to establish a centralized funding mechanism to enable swift and coordinated response to disasters and emergencies across the country. By pooling resources from government agencies, NGOs, and international donors, the project seeks to enhance preparedness, response capacity, and resilience to natural and man-made disasters in Pakistan.

Resource Mobilization:
- Successfully mobilized contributions from government entities, humanitarian organizations, corporate donors, and international partners to establish the pool fund, surpassing the initial fundraising targets.
- Secured commitments for both financial and in-kind donations, including cash contributions, relief supplies, and technical expertise, to support disaster response efforts in Pakistan.

Capacity Building:
- Conducted capacity-building workshops, training sessions, and simulation exercises for government officials, emergency responders, and frontline workers to enhance their preparedness and response skills.
- Developed standardized protocols, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the efficient and effective utilization of pool fund resources in emergency situations, ensuring consistency and accountability in response activities.
