Play Center for 82 children with cancer in Mexico

In 2017 we inaugurated the play center at the Dr Valentín Gómez Farías Regional Hospital, on the same floor as the Pediatric Oncoclinic. It had an area for small children and another area for young people, as well as a general reception where parents could calmly wait. the time of the appointment, a few months later staff from another area other than Oncopediatrics began to use one of the offices as a Pharmacy office, some time later the area was closed for us with our things inside, without being able to take them out and they began to use the area For other purposes, our investment was put on hold for a few months until they decided to return the equipment and furniture to our association, by then we were able to recover only some things since part of the furniture was no longer possible and being a very important area for the well-being of Our patients saw the need to look for another place, we had the intention of expanding the clinic but we decided to go to an external area so we moved to an area of our office because another of the changes in the hospital was the prohibition of parents and patients from staying in the hospital while there are a few hours left for their consultation, knowing that they always arrive very early for their clinical tests, there is a period of several hours because we remember that at least 95% of patients who arrive at that hospital are foreigners and have no other waiting space.

In this report we will show you where the children and young people are now enjoying a time of recreation and food while they wait for their consultation time.

We will also show you some pictures the play center we had at the  hospital.

We invite you to be part of this new adventure in which we are working so that our children and young people have educational material, games, films and courses and can enjoy while they are called for consultation and the driver can take them to the hospital..
