In OSCASI, our mission is to comprehensively educate school children, covering different areas: physical, psychological, socioemotional, spiritual, and academic, through an individualized educational model. Our main objective is to level them up to sixth grade and provide them with a series of tools that will be useful to them in the future. Once they graduate from OSCASI, we take care of zoning them into high schools so that they can continue their high school studies.
Our educational program focuses on designing activities adapted to our population, which represents a great challenge. However, our team of teachers receives constant training and support, with the assistance of educational psychologists and psychologists in this educational process.
Given the diverse realities of our students, many of them cannot continue their studies for different reasons and must fend for themselves or be heads of households. For this reason, as extracurricular activities, we offer workshops for vocational training. These workshops represent the integration of community work in Alternative Schools and provide students with the opportunity to develop skills that will be useful to them in their job placement.
From the age of 13, our students participate in workshops to enhance their skills. We offer workshops in piñata making, hairdressing, barbering, manicure, depilation, and technical service; offered twice a week in the afternoons, after lunch.
In addition to vocational training, OSCASI offers different programs for the development of literacy, mathematics, art (art therapy and cultural workshops), and computer science. Our children do social work and catechesis. All these programs are coordinated so that each child has the opportunity to explore and develop their talents throughout the school year.
In the educational process, we involve the family, creating various spaces for their participation and education, which contributes to increasing their commitment to their children's learning.
With 66 years of work and commitment to Petare and its children, we seek the development of communities and continue to provide opportunities through our alternative schools. We continue working, growing, and trying to reach more and more.
Thank you for your continuous support. We count on you to continue moving forward on this path!
