Cierre del ano escolar en OSCASI

By Staff | OSCASI

In OSCASI, we are very happy to have successfully ended the 2022-2023 school year, to see how our children have grown and acquired new knowledge and skills. We are also very proud of our sixth-grade children who completed their studies at OSCASI and are preparing for their graduation.

In May, the sixth-grade students from OSCASI, together with the fifth-year students from Colegio San Ignacio, joined together to do a social service activity: visiting Casa Hogar San Judas Tadeo. First, they gathered at Escuela Nuestra Señora del Carmen where they collected clothes and shoes to donate, as well as prepared breakfast and lunch with the help of their teachers, which they brought to Casa Hogar. The visit to Casa Hogar was very moving, our children brought joy and fun activities to the elderly. They danced, played dominoes, talked, and ate delicious food.

At OSCASI, we believe that everyone, from our own spaces, can give smiles with daily small gestures; that regardless of our conditions, we can always walk with the poor, give them a hand, accompany them, and grow as human beings.

In June, two of our workshops ended, the workshop at Universidad Metropolitana  and the workshop at Fundacion Bigott. Our mission is to provide comprehensive training to our OSCASI children, giving them all the possible tools to be prepared to continue their education and to be able to enter the workforce. At Metropolitan University, our children learn about informatics, technical service, and have the opportunity to learn about new technologies. On the other hand, the Bigott Foundation workshops are related to the cultural component, where they learn about traditional music and dance.

Likewise, our teachers received the "Diversity in Alternative Schools" course offered by the Universidad Monteavila, in order to strengthen the educational system of OSCASI and provide tools to our teachers.

In July, we celebrated Children's Day and had our end-of-year party. Our children from both schools enjoyed a day of games, music, contests, and delicious food. In addition, the sixth-grade students had their last school bell, threw all the books in the air, and said goodbye to the school that was their home for several years.

We are excited about the graduations. Nothing makes us happier and prouder than seeing our children achieve their goals, close cycles, and open up to a new world full of knowledge and new challenges. OSCASI will always be their home.

Thank you for helping us continue to transform realities. Together, we continue working for the development of communities and providing our children with the opportunities they deserve.
