Get Set. GO!

By Tashmica Torok | Development Associate

Jovita's new home.
Jovita's new home.
You are on the starting line.

You have until midnight to inspire your loved ones to help you pass the baton in the Race to 1k.

Today Global Giving will match $.50 of every dollar donated from now until midnight.

There is also a bonus prize of $1,000 for the organization that is given the most gifts from new donors.

Remember - You can help from wherever you are!

  1. Give a gift of $10 to your favorite grannies.

  2. Pass the baton by sharing your generosity with 5 loved ones on Facebook, Twitter or via email.

  3. Inspire them to give $10 too!

$1,000 is enough to build another safe home, smoke free kitchen and sanitary pit latrine.

Doesn't Jovita look lovely standing in front of her new house!? (see above)

YOU built it for her!

You helped her move out of a home that leaked through the roof and the foundation. Jovita feared that snakes would be washed in with the elements. Her three grandchildren spent their nights trying to sleep in cold and damp conditions.

YOU built Jovita's kitchen and pit latrine too! (see below)

She was forced to sell most of her land when her husband battled a long period of illness. Sadly, she was widowed and left without the financial resources to support herself.

She has to rely on a neighbor just to be able to use the restroom every day.

Not any more.

YOU came through for her and her grandchildren BIG time.

Today, you have the opportunity to rescue a granny just like Jovita with a smaller than normal investment.

Help win $1000 and build another Nyaka grandmother a safe home, smokefree kitchen and sanitary pit latrine.

Take a moment to tell your friends and family about the lives you are changing in rural Uganda.

Go ahead. Brag.

Pass the baton. Inspire them to give too. Win the Race to 1k!

GO!
