Thank you for your generous contribution to the Middle East Crisis Relief Fund. Your continued support is making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by the ongoing crisis.

Your donations help provide food, water, medical care, and crucial support to Palestinians returning to Northern Gaza after more than a year of displacement. They also assist those in the Occupied West Bank who are enduring escalating violence from the Israeli military and settlers. In addition, your donation funds trauma recovery services across Israel and promotes peacebuilding activities, helping to lay the foundations for a more peaceful future for all.

Since we last wrote, your donations powered 15 grants to some of our trusted, community-led partners supporting Palestinians and Israelis in need. As one grantee shared after receiving support:

“Every time [we receive a grant], our field relief team celebrates and smiles, knowing they can finally send approvals to the long list of people at risk and in urgent need.” —  Guardians of Equality Movement (Canada)

Here is a short description of some of the critical work you’ve supported:

  • Women Affairs Center (WAC) is now able to work from its main office in Northern Gaza, alongside its offices in Deir el-Blah, Khan Younis, and Rafah, after more than a year of displacement. WAC provides psychological first aid and training, with a special focus on supporting women and survivors of violence. Leveraging their strong local ties, they are also providing hygiene kits, food, and other essentials to communities in need in partnership with UN agencies.
  • Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation (BASR)continues to deliver essential medical treatment and rehabilitation services to Palestinians in the Occupied West Bank, where demand has surged amid escalating violence. In addition, BASR has recently partnered with local emergency groups to provide food and humanitarian aid to over 15,000 displaced people in Jenin, distributing 1,600 meals daily.
  • Sadaka-Reut Arab Jewish Youth Partnershipoperates in Naqab (Southern Israel), where their team offers psychological support and resilience-building workshops to Bedouins, a marginalized and often discriminated against group. Over the past year, Sadaka-Reut has facilitated workshops that helped more than 100 participants explore their cultural roots, document stories, and address trauma. At the end of each workshop series, participants have developed initiatives aimed at supporting and empowering their communities.
  • Guardians of Equality Movement Canada (GEM)  is providing key support to LGBTQIA+ individuals in Gaza by offering cash assistance and dignity kits discreetly, ensuring the privacy and safety of individuals reaching out. In Israel and the Occupied West Bank, GEM is collaborating with LGBTQIA+ Arab and LGBTQIA+ Israeli organizations on peace initiatives to foster collective recovery and peacebuilding.

Your support of the GlobalGiving Middle East Crisis Relief Fund powers community-led responses like these, and it means our partnersget the critical resources they need to respond to the needs around them.

As the Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation (BASR) team shared,

“[This grant is] invaluable in helping us respond to urgent needs, ensuring that we can continue providing essential services and support to those affected by the ongoing situation. We deeply value our partnership with GlobalGiving and your unwavering solidarity.”

With a fragile ceasefire deal now in place, there is an even greater need to continue supporting our partners on the front lines of protecting and caring for their communities. Let us unite with our partners and continue to support their efforts, as it will take all of us to rebuild their communities and lives.

In solidarity,

Kyra + the GlobalGiving Team

About GlobalGiving’s Disaster Response

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.

We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.

They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
