Mental Health Awareness to 500 youth in Rwanda

Project Report | Dec 31, 2024
make mental health awareness for 500 youth reality

By Donatien NDIZEYE | M&E Leader

The COVID-19 pandemic, which emerged in 2020, significantly impacted communities worldwide. In Rwanda, the effects were deeply felt among young people, who faced challenges such as job losses, the closure of businesses, and general uncertainty about their futures. This led to a surge in mental health issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, and hopelessness, particularly among the youth.

The Mental Health Awareness for 500 Youth in Rwanda project aims to address these challenges by raising awareness and providing tools to young people aged 15 to 24 years old. The initiative targets both men and women, focusing on empowering them with knowledge and coping mechanisms to overcome the adverse effects of the pandemic.

However, the implementation of this project is delayed due to insufficient funding. Budget constraints hinder our ability to organize workshops and trainers and distribute resources effectively.

We appeal to donors, well-wishers, and stakeholders to support this vital initiative. Your contributions will enable us to implement the project and positively impact the lives of 500 young people.

The Mental Health Awareness for 500 Youth in Rwanda project is a timely intervention to address the mental health crisis among young people exacerbated by the pandemic. Investing in their mental well-being can equip them with the resilience needed to overcome challenges and build a brighter future. We urge you to join us in making this project a reality.

Happy New Year of 2025!
