In these challenging times, we are all navigating through uncertainty for ourselves, our loved ones and our community. We hope you are staying healthy and safe.
More than ever, we are committed to delivering hope and joy to those children with orthopedic disabilities and deformities. In light of current medical and public concerns, we want to update you on the steps we’re taken on this project - Restore Hope.... When you help, they heal.
In April 2021, we called for bids to purchase orthopedic equipment to the value of LKR 4.5 million (Value of USD 22,500 approx. as per current exchange rate) from the donations we've received thus far. We selected a supplier and awarded the contract.
Although, we were to receive the medical equipment in July 2021, due to a shipment delay as a result of the current condition, we are yet waiting for it. The supplier is also unable to let us know the definite time in which they can let us have it.
Once we receive the medical equipment, we will donate it to the Children's Hospital in Colombo and will keep you informed of it.
With regard to raising funds for the balance equipment required, our project is live on GlobalGiving and we are collecting funds. We wish to focus on the following two campaigns run by GlobalGiving during 2021 to raise funds, and they are
1) Little by Little Campaign in September 2021 and
2) Giving Tuesday Campaign in December 2021
