We're celebrating! The help is closer!

By Francisco Alcala | Home Storytellers Executive Director

It is the end of our first week and we thought it would be the perfect time to touch base with you guys!

¡Gracias! Merci! Thank you!

We’ve raised $1,988 dollars from 11 donors from 4 different countries.

Yes! People from Mexico, Spain, France, and the United States, together believed in our cause and decided to hop on board. For that we just can’t thank you enough, which is why attached to this mail you will find a link to a preview of our upcoming documentary "Hot Dogs on a Tricycle".

Still with 13 days ahead and $3,012 to raise, our team feels enormously grateful and inspired to keep working as hard as possible to ACHIEVE THE GOAL: Legal Assistance for 75 refugees in Mexico.

Over the past week we’ve been talking to dozens of people: in person, over the phone, on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, by mail, Google Hangouts, Skype, Zoom, you name it, and besides raising the number, we’ve also achieved the support of athletes in Mexico and Spain, under the challenge #onekmcloser, to help us raise funds by transforming their kms. into donations.

Over the next 2 weeks our strong volunteers will be pedaling, skating, running, hiking, and swimming, to bring the help closer, by amplifying the assistance provided by our partner Asylum Access at the South of Mexico, so people don’t have to walk further for resuming their lives.

Next week is decisive, though! On March 20th we’ll be having Bonus Day, where we’ll be competing for a piece of the $20,000 dollar fund of GlobalGiving with other organizations. Basically, the organization that raises the most throughout the day, stays with the biggest cut! We’ve asked our strong volunteers to try to focus on this day as the donations can be multiplied.

We thank you again for your enormous support,

Francisco Alcalá

Founder of Home Storytellers
