Project Report | Mar 28, 2022
We continue our work in 22 rural schools

By Andres Sarmiento | Alliances Coordinator

(English version)

Report update: March 2022

We would like to thank all donors and report the actions that have been taken so far regarding the work performed with teachers, students, and their families this year in 22 rural schools with Escala Project.

Escala aims to reduce the risk of dropping out through a selection of the best social and educational initiatives reinforcing capabilities in schools and teachers. Therefore, Escala contributes students stay in school and complete the learning process until graduation.

The Escala methodology starts with a diagnosis. After that with the scholar community, we select the best initiative that could reduce the main factor that affects the scholar permanence in each school, and then we implement the initiative. At this moment, the work is focusing in:

-              Making the diagnosis in 5 schools

-              Implement the intervention in 10 schools

-              Prepare the initiative that will start in June in 7 schools.

So, we are working at this moment with 1900 students, 223 teachers, and 22 headteachers.

Testimony:

“With the Escala project, we are doing very important work to attend to one of the main difficulties in rural areas. We recognize the importance and the commitment that the Foundations has with the prevention and the mitigation the scholar droop out. This work has motivated us to strengthen our institutional view and improve our productive and pedagogical approach, which is fundamental to reaching rural development” Bertha Cortés – Headmaster – Andes Rural School (San Bernardo – Cundinamarca)

Your support makes our work possible. With you, we can reduce the multiple factors that affect the permanence of students in 22 rural schools in Colombia.

Thank you!

Reporte: Marzo 2022

¡Muchas gracias!
