Last July, the Global Peace Foundation, in partnership with Polytechnic University of the Philippines Alumni of BSIT Batch 2013 and in collaboration with the office of Municipal Agriculturist of Palompon Local Government Buenavista, visited homes of Buenavista All-Lights Village Fisherfolks Association officers to monitor their situation. Members of PUP Alumni distributed groceries and had a focus group discussion with the officers and their families where they listened to their experiences when Typhoon Yolanda hit their community and how they recovered from the disaster.
In the 3rd quarter, Buenavista All-Lights Village Fisherfolks Association is focusing on processing their registration to the Bureau of Internal Revenue. They are also in the process of accreditation at the Municipal Legislative Council (Sangguniang Bayan ) of the Municipality of Palompon. Every last Thursday of the month, members and officers of the association meet to discuss their progress, with the assistance of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Technician, Ms. Maria Martina Suganob.
