Photographic record of 2020 activities

By Cepac Barueri | Report #ESP 2020

DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES PERFORMED RELATED TO THE WORK PLAN PRESENTED:

4.1 Groups with families

On June 3, our first online meeting took place, the Institution team launched a questionnaire and left it open for family members to register their doubts, and some of the questions about the future framework of the project and what are the actions and work models proposed in this period. It was a very productive space for exchanging the team with family members, exchanging experiences, all the guidelines established up to that moment were passed and all doubts were removed.

At the last moment of the meeting, the technician asked family members how they evaluate the actions taken during this pandemic period and the care they were taking in relation to the family's health. It was another very rich exchange moment. The objective was to build with family members that not everything is negative or positive.

In August, we held meetings with subgroups of families at different times at CEPAC to explain the new formatting of the Project, in a hybrid way with face-to-face assistance, through small groups, thus avoiding crowding and maintaining lives and activities by Google Classroom. We also held a family meeting via Zoom at the end of the month, whose theme was “Family relationships during and after pandemic ”, where the space was opened so that families could reflect on the changes in family relationships in this period when many remain longer in the company of their own. We talked about the positive factors that the pandemic has provided.

MAY:

Current Campaign of Good

With the purpose of stimulating the transformation of individuals respecting their experiences and peculiarities with the establishment of the recent pandemic situation, there was an intensification of their pre-existing reflexes in the expressions of the social question, namely: social isolation and its consequences as issues of exclusion and intensification of psychological issues; the worsening lack of job opportunities; the decrease in wages due to the flexibility of labor rights and consequently the lack of basic items for essential human survival. The Corrente do Bem Campaign was designed by the institutional team to meet this new scenario. In turn, Corrente do Bem aimed to bring together actors from the territory and the institution to face the local needs caused by Pandemic, thus fostering the articulation of CRAS, UBS, PS, SAF, Cheira Tinta Collective, private initiative and community, a massive program volunteering (Pontos de Luz). As a central instrument, a WhatsApp group was set up, in which every donation received by the institution is disclosed in this group, as well as the difficulties found in each equipment to better manage and share actions collectively.

And also care in approaching and entering people's homes. Recommendation was to avoid entering the houses and if they feel the need and are afraid they can request the assistance of professionals or technicians from the Service, or even refer the case to the technicians to evaluate a visit. As an initial proposal to approach and recognize possible lines of action, the professional held a moment of active listening in order to understand the emotional demands of the volunteers. Thus, the volunteers Pontos de Luz were able to talk about their anguishes, fears and concerns about being in the field. Concerns about how they would deal with some situations, which they did not feel prepared for. Two aspects were observed, reception and orientation. In this way, the volunteer psychologist volunteered to develop a welcoming work, in order to favor the volunteers' emotional comfort. The moment counted with the participation of 5 mothers and 4 technicians.

JULY:

a)  Theme: 4th meeting Points of Light

Synthesis: On July 2, 4 women Points of Light attended the Institution. The objective of this meeting was to reflect on issues that permeate the process of acting in the territory, namely: introducing reflection on what the “Colectives” movements are in the territories; advise on the integrality of solidarity actions, considering that the institution, as it is a body linked to the provision of services based on public policy of social assistance by law, should not be linked to political parties; there was talk of strategies to expand more people as Points of Light in the territory; we talked about the origin of the Ponto de Luz and Corrente do Bem Projects; and the proposal for the participation of the Points of Light in the monthly meeting of families was articulated in order to expand the solidarity network at the time of the pandemic.

b) Theme: 5th Meeting of Points of Light

Synthesis: On July 16, there was another moment with the Ponto de Luz women, on this day there were 6 participants, they shared their experiences when making visits to the families of the community to deliver donations and presented some concerns regarding the vulnerability of some cases. Seeking to reflect with them on the importance of thinking about collective strategies, the topics addressed were: activating social protection agencies; for children to call the Guardianship Council when there is a violation of rights; study collective needs and articulate actions with public policies; think of parallel projects with the departments that meet the needs of the community; discussion about the sports court that was donated to the community and finds it difficult to access. From this meeting it was agreed that the technician would make invitations to some representatives of Organs CRAS and Tutelary Councils for a chat with the Points of Light aiming to expand the information on such actions to think about some future strategies.

AUGUST

a) Theme: Points of Light - Appropriating the Collective

Synthesis: On August 13, the citizenship instructor was responsible for conducting the activity with 8 participants from the Ponto de Luz group. The purpose of this action was to present them with theoretical knowledge about collectives and social movements, demonstrate examples of collectives that managed to follow up to its causes and currently carry out various actions that meet the needs of their territories based on the organization of all those involved in favor. The instructor and the social worker started the moment with guiding questions that led the participants to reflect on collective needs and what is the organization of political citizens. From this, it was approached about the organization of social movements, formation of collectives and their compositions, reflected on causes and objectives to be achieved and critical reflection on the autonomy of the entities involved in their actions as the basis for a solid construction. Slides were presented with two examples of collectives in São Paulo: Praça 7 Jovens located in the Brasilândia neighborhood and Associação Vila Nova Esperança located in the municipality of Pirituba, they were able to learn about the formation story of each of the examples and how many actions are being developed self-sustaining in both places. The participants were very curious, sometimes put their opinions and agreed on a new meeting with the instructor to better structure the project.

 b) Theme: 7th Meeting of Points of Light - Dialogue with the Guardian Council.

Synthesis:  On August 27, with the necessary protective measures, 9 women Pontos de Luz, together with the 3 social workers and an expression instructor, were present in a meeting with the Tutelary Counselor Paulo Henrique Nascimento of the Tutelary Council II. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen knowledge about the role of children and adolescents in the protection policy and expand the knowledge of the role of the Guardianship Council to meet possible referrals to cases seen by the Points of Light in the territory during their visits that it requires attention. The moment began with the presentation of the Counselor and his duties in the protection agency that intervenes in the following situations: when there are violations of the rights of the child by the state, the family or self-violation, he didactically suggested actions based on the sharing of cases (maintaining secrecy) and those present then sought to resolve doubts about it. Issues such as the distortion of the role of the Guardianship Council, the flow of complaints, characterization of an infraction, protection measure and rape of the vulnerable were addressed. The moment proved to be very profitable, the Points of Light reported alleged situations and received guidance on how to proceed in order to eradicate violence against children and adolescents. And in the end they looked for the reference technique to thank for the action.

4.3 -  4.2 Workshops / activities: Educational Course: Self-knowledge: Live (Online meeting 1): An online meeting was held with users, through the Zoom platform, where instructors received users with the songs they chose, in a survey. After the reception, each user spoke about how they were living in social isolation, if they were taking proper care and if they knew of someone in the family with a suspicion of the corona virus. Seeking to relax with the group, there was a game, where the instructor displayed a puzzle of a certain object and the user looked for the house and brought it to present on the camera. Challenge: Store of feelings: Users received a video by the WhatsApp group, with the instructor informing that a store was created with 10 feelings and they could choose a feeling and make a video of up to 1 minute selling this feeling and what is its importance . Users sent the videos and through the same channel they received the guidance. Live (Online meeting 2): The second online meeting was held, through the Zoom platform, the instructors talked with the users about what it was like to do the previous activity and why the choice of feelings was made. After the conversation, a game was held (Who am I?) Where each instructor was a character from a film, Brazilian state or sport. Each user asked a question, which the instructors could only answer with a yes or no. Working on logical reasoning, culture and geography. May 18 Challenge: The citizenship instructor produced and made available, through the WhatsApp group, a video contextualizing May 18 and talking about the importance of combating sexual violence with children and adolescents. To disseminate this idea, a theme was created on the social network Facebook, on May 18, for users to change their profile. Flexibility at work: The instructor through the Classroom platform, made available an article and two videos explaining the meaning of flexibility and tips to be more flexible, after accessing the content, users did an exercise with cases that are common in companies, to test how was their flexibility. After the videos, users were challenged to think about a subject that they were not aware of and after the research commented to the group, what was the subject chosen and two things they learned about it. In August, we resumed the workshop weekly, with the subgroups, according to the Work Plan presented for the pandemic period.

HUMANIZING SPACE MEETING

This space was designed to provide employees with a moment of care, taking care of those who care. Allow us to look beyond the difficult days we live in, to look at each other's humanity.

In this first meeting that took place on July 17th in the afternoon, the Institution's psychologists who are in charge of this activity, made an invitation to all employees and have already requested that they take an attachment object that represents something important in their lives. 24 employees attended the event.

At the first moment of opening this space, the techniques explained the objective of this new Project and the dynamics of the attachment object was initiated. Everyone brought their objects and explained the reasons for their choices. It was a moment of emotion, welcome and discovery.

After this first phase, a loyalty card was given to participants who were supposed to carry out a small mission during the month. This mission would be to approach someone who has no proximity, that is, to seek to better understand the person's life story, their choices, their way of thinking, in short, the objective of this activity is to look at the other in different ways, unpretentiously.

PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICE VOLUNTEERING - Vivo Telecom Company:

In June of this year, a Volunteer Project in Psychology was initiated due to the demands presented in the territory due to the lack of psychological assistance in the Network. This project started at that time of Pandemic through one of the funding from the Corrente do Bem project. The demands addressed are the most varied and are not necessarily linked to this phase that we are experiencing. This is a therapeutic action and all volunteers receive the necessary instructions from the institution's techniques. Initial interviews are carried out in order to outline the profile of the psychologist and subsequently the referrals are carried out with great care and organization, adding up to the period 11 volunteers and 17 assisted (they are people from the territory and Service), considering that the frequency of consultations it is weekly, 68 calls were made so far. Meetings are held monthly to discuss cases and to be able to exchange experiences and therapeutic management.

AUGUST

HUMANIZING SPACE MEETING

In this meeting held on August 26 in the afternoon with the participation of 26 employees, there was an outstanding task to report the proximity of someone not so close within the Institution.

Some people managed to do it and others didn't, but the participants asked to extend this activity to the next month.

Without any problem with this request, we started the main activity of this meeting.

All participants received a sheet with some questions about self-knowledge, in order to encourage an inward look.

During the week, participants were given a white T-shirt to bring to the meeting.

Next, the technique that would be performed was explained.

Tie dye is an ancient technique that has African and Eastern origins, which was later implemented and widely used by hippies.

During the execution of the activity it was explained that even performing the same technique each shirt would look different, that is, the choice of colors, the way to tie, would influence the final result.

There was a moment of reflection at the end of the activity on freedom of expression and being.

Some participants wanted to take a stand before this reflection and the activity ended with the exposition of a word that represented this moment for each one.

Connect Community: On August 28, the first event “Conecta Comunidade” was held, the services technicians started the transmission presenting in the new virtual space and the live counted on the voluntary participation of Vilma, who is the mother of users, participates in the Pontos de Luz project and it also performs various social actions such as free zumba classes in the territory for women. The Semeando Dance collective was invited and with due social distance and protection measures 4 users also developed the proposed choreographies. She could then present a zumba class, the moment also told the speech of the project manager who launched an invitation to participate in activities that can contribute to innovative proposals in social isolation that add to their reality.
