Khaled - A Child Who Lost His Father And Became His Family's Keeper

By HASAN SADIK | project Leader

Dear Donor,

In northern Gaza, tragedy unfolds every day. Families have no source of income, and the chances of finding food or even clean water are sometimes nonexistent. Most of Gaza’s population now lives in camps and temporary shelters after the recent war destroyed 80% of the region, wiping out its infrastructure entirely and leaving thousands without homes or the means for a dignified life.

With your continuous support, we strive to reach as many vulnerable Palestinian families as possible, bringing them a glimmer of hope in these dire conditions.

While walking through Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood, we met 16-year-old Khaled.
Khaled is no longer a child like others; life forced him to become the head of his family after his father was shot by a sniper. Now, he bears the responsibility of providing for his mother and younger siblings.

With tears breaking his pride, Khaled says:
"My father lay motionless on the ground, lifeless in the middle of the street after being shot by a sniper. We tried to reach him, but they wouldn’t let us. I couldn’t even bury him."

We tried to comfort him, but his pain was beyond words.

Today, Khaled wanders through the rubble of destroyed homes, collecting waste and plastic debris to burn in hopes of providing some warmth for his family.

Thanks to your donations, we were able to provide a hot meal for Khaled and his family. It was a moment of warmth in the midst of despair, but it is not enough. Thousands of families are still waiting for help, and children like Khaled desperately need your continued support.

Your donation saves lives. Your ongoing contributions mean more food, more safety, and more hope. Every meal given, every blanket distributed, and every moment of warmth shared is because of you.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your generosity.
You are the difference that Gaza’s children need today.

With many thanks
