As we prepare for summer, we wanted to take a minute to reflect on the many changes that have positively impacted HOPE as we look forward to the coming events. We had a wonderful and exciting spring!
To say that May was a busy month is an understatement! In addition to welcoming Amy Tripson, our new Therapeutic Horsemanship and Equine Director who holds an Advanced Certification from PATH Intl., the HOPE team assessed new riders for summer camp, welcomed a new orphanage for the day (who brought five children) and provided 62 lessons to weekly riders. Once registration opened, our Summer Camps filled within one day! We have both new and returning riders, ready for four weeks of a camp that provides opportunities for an interactive, supportive and safe experience while making new friends and having fun!
HOPE is hosting an Introduction to Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) course for professionals who have expressed interest in providing such a program at their facilities in China and South Asia. The course covers participants, benefits, volunteers, safety, horse welfare, and more. The class will be a comprehensive introduction for serving individuals with disabilities in partnership with the horse.
