Helping The Directors Serve Better

The last couple of months have been such a rollercoaster with the surging fuel and commodity prices in the country, lots of school activities, the Executive Director’s internship period and generally a lot of work at the organisation especially given that the kids were having a school break.

The critical support that we received from our friends, donors and well-wishers has gone a long way in ensuring that we get ourselves ready to send our children back to school after the school break. This is no mean fete given the just recently announced high school costs all across the country and we are immensely relieved and thrilled at the same time to know that our children will access education despite the hard economic times while freeing us up to keep pushing our work of serving the communities much further. We are so thankful to all of you.

Background

This report covers a broad spectrum of subject matter relating to the critical support that is extended to the Directors of Another Hope Children’s Ministries in a bid to ensure that they can diligently execute their jobs and related assignments. This would in turn ensure sustainability of the operations of the organisation’s services among the vulnerable populations of Uganda.

Introduction

The past three months have been whirlwind of activity associated with the start of a new year which ranged from getting ready for a new academic year after a two-year break, training the kids at the organization in critical skills and basic education concepts, working with newly recruited staff members which includes intensive trainings. All these put a great deal of stress on the directors as they are time consuming as well see a strain on their resources in their bid to realize optimum output.

The resources extended to the directors were very pivotal in enabling them to send their own biological children in school at a time when the tuition was hiked due to the negative effects of the lockdown, take care of their own home at a period when they were too busy running the agency to spare time to engage in extra income generating activity, meet the medical needs of their family, some children at Another Hope and staff members and generally a piece of mind that ensures that they can give their best to the organization.

This has seen their performance dramatically increase at the organisation since they can still guarantee the safety and well-being of their family and dependents despite the high cost of living in Uganda at the moment.

Conclusion

The directors continually express their gratitude to their partners and friends whose commitment to spreading positive change around the World extends to their own well-being. This is true service beyond self and it goes a long way in preserving all the positive strides already realized.
