Dear Friend,
As we reach the first year since AWB started its work to support people fleeing the conflict in Ukraine, we want to highlight all of the amazing people that have helped AWB scale its capacity and be able to effectively provide care and support to thousands of people affected by this conflict across 9 European countries, Mexico and the US. From acupuncturists and other integrative health practitioners who traveled to Berlin in June of last year to train with us, to all of the amazing volunteers, coordinators and collaborators who have dedicated their energy, time, money and work to helping the people of Ukraine. We are honored to work alongside you and truly thankful for your support.
In a span of a year AWB went from providing 20,000 treatments per year to 200,000 treatments in 2022! We could not have done this without the amazing European community of acupuncturists and other practitioners who joined this cause, inspired by the motivation of helping those in need and spreading the medicine of peace to a part of the world in great need of it.
In 2023 we are continuing to provide treatments and support to the people of Ukraine and others fleeing conflict and natural disasters in Europe as well as around the world. As demand for our services grows, we continue to depend on the support of our amazing community to make this work a reality and be able to continue reaching thousands of people in need. If you can, please consider becoming a recurring supporter and/or member of AWB today.
In the spirit of service,
The AWB Team
QUICK UPDATE FROM THE FIELD:
AWB is honored to support Dr. Oksana Dovbnia, a Ukrainian acupuncturist trained in China, who treats veterans and first responders daily at a hospital outside Kiev, Ukraine. Every day she travels an hour each way to provide acupuncture for pain and traumatic stress to people coping with significant pain, head injuries and other wounds of war. She often works without heat or electricity. We are also grateful to DocSave in Germany, an acupuncture supply company that helps AWB get supplies to Oksana every month. You can help by donating to the AWB Refugee Support fund to make sure this work continues in the midst of war.
