For the last few months, Thailand has still been going through the Omicron wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The government still understandably doesn't allow us to enter government schools. The problem of tooth decay, however, doesn't stop for the pandemic and it's still a concern that many children who normally only get dental care from school, still cannot access it.
Recently we received 2,880 toothbrush, toothpaste, and fluoride sets from local dentists which is very helpful. The more local donations we receive, the less fundraising we need to do and we are thankful for the local involvement. So far we have distributed these to over 600 children and were recently joined by Faculty of Dentistry and Faculty of Management from Chiang Mai University. We visited 3 orphanages of Karen children in Samoeng, children at Omkoi Community village, and to children living in slums in downtown Chiang Mai.
Thank you for continuing to help us provide the best dental care we possibly can through the Covid era!
