FUND FREEDOM FOR THOUSANDS OF KIDS IN NORTH MEXICO

This period we are pleased to share that this project has been able to continue, families benefited, mainly from the cities of Tijuana, Mexicali, Tecate, Rosarito and Ensenada, in the State of Baja California.

As in every preventive activity, we focus not only on bringing the prevention vaccine to the communities but also on training ourselves as a team and training other institutions and organizations that are working with people who live in situations that put them at high risk and vulnerable. of being victims of human trafficking and child exploitation.

One of these activities took place in a Church in the municipality of Rosarito that works with a community and it was very pleasant to receive parents interested in learning about how they can better care for their sons and daughters. This community received conferences focused on what Human Trafficking is and the most common methods of hooking it. At the same time, children and adolescents received important information and preventive material as well.

On the other hand, a workshop was given to young adolescent girls who every year attend a special camp where we had the opportunity to share a sensitive talk about the risks that exist on social networks and with some other behaviors that can put their integrity at risk. Statistically, over time, it has been identified that adolescent women are much more likely to fall victim to different crimes related to violence, and commercial sexual exploitation of children is no exception. This is why we are grateful that these spaces exist and that we are able to share this information.

Another activity to highlight in this period was the opportunity to train more than 100 people in the city of Mexicali in the prevention of sexual abuse and child sexual exploitation. This group was very focused on direct work with children and adolescents, it was an intensive training where we wish and hope to see the fruit in your work areas.

Finally, within the framework of the World Day against Human Trafficking, we held a special call where nearly 100 officials who work to protect children and the offices in charge of administering justice in the State of Baja California were present, who received special training about Human Trafficking for correct identification, care and monitoring of victims. Likewise, we hope that each victim who comes to our offices can receive the attention they deserve and need.

These are some of the activities that are carried out for prevention to reach thousands of people and prevent more girls, boys and adolescents, mainly, from falling into the hands of aggressors and exploiters.

We are pleased to share with you about our last period of work on this project that has filled us with challenges but also with satisfaction knowing that our girls, boys and adolescents are learning about how important they are, they are learning that NOBODY should hurt them. And all this thanks to the ludic material that is specially designed for them with the aim of preventing sexual abuse and commercial sexual exploitation of children.The team that executes this project is prepared through constant training and feedback on these issues.

This prevention project has the goodness of being able to add on many occasions parents, teachers, community and religious leaders, who open the spaces where we can reach and offer our Freedom for Thousands Prevention Day.

Tijuana, Tecate and Ensenada were the main municipalities in the State of Baja California that benefited and received the Preventive Day during this period, with the assistance of approximately 400 girls and boys between the ages of 5 and 17, in addition to some relatives and part of the community also received important prevention information.
