Happy new year everyone! Last year we lost our old van in an accident on the highway. No one was hurt, but we were struggling to find a rental car to drive the families. For a couple months we did, but since it was a very expensive option we realized it was not the solution.
So, we started looking to buy a new van, and it was a lot harder than expected. We thought getting a second hand car was the best option, but we didn't find one. That's when we got the idea to have a raffle to fund our vehicle. We were giving away an Iphone and at first it looked like a lot of people were interested, but for the next few weeks no one was really buying tickets. We started to worry cause were barely gonna get money out of it, but thankfully by the end some more joined and we managed to get some funding for the car.
Still we needed to figure out how to get it because just as our raffle was taking place a global problem in the car industry was emerging. Somehow, there were some issues around the world with the system of cars in production, so all the car agencies were short of vehicles. It was chaotic for a few weeks cause the second we found an available option, it was sold to someone else.
We looked in other cities and states and we finally found one. We are so happy to say that thanks to all the people who donated, we were able to buy the new van that is gonna be used to continue to give free transportation to th families, to and from the hospital so the children don't miss their appointments and do't lose the battle.
Thank you so much everyone, Happy new year!
