Food, Livelihood, Nutrition Support for Women

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative supporting women who are impoverished in order for them to grow healthy and be productive members of society. This reporting period, we focus our attention to providing indigent women and their families in a remote barrio in Misamis with rainwater harvesting facility. Water is difficult to access in this barrio because the source is far in the hillside and women and children have to walk more than an hour in order to fetch water. The rainwater harvester is very durable and with constant rain, the availability of water for drinking, hygiene and the excess for their gardening activities is very important. The harvester we constructed can store 10,000 liters water so this is a big help to them.

Dear Friend,

Greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project assisting very poor and vulnerable women by providing them food and nutrition. This reporting period we provided 200 women and their families with vegetable seed packets comprising easy to grow and early maturing vegetables in order to improve their nutrition. We also included simple instructions how to grow the vegetables. Our experience in the past is that the women like this initiative very much because the vegetables provided them with nutritious food and income as well as exercise. They like also the vegetables growing and making their backyards green. Growing them is also a sort of exercise for them. For women who are in very dire circumstances, for example, the husband died, we provided them with direct aid comprising rice and money.
