Dear Friend,
Thank you very much for your support to our initiative providing food and medical care for sick youth and elderly. In the past our focus was in providing palliattive measures like preparing and distributing food packs and home essentials but later on we found out that this is not so effective and tend to create dependency among the beneficiaries. Fully realizing that there are available open spaces in their homes good for planting crops, we designed a system this reporting period so that the families of the sick could start and develop their food production areas. We target the growing of food crops like vegetables and legumes as well as the growing of fruit and timber trees especially in the boundaries of their farms. Bananas and root crops too are favorites of farmers and they are easy to grow. We are able to start 15 pilot sites and we hope to expand in additional farms by next reporting period. Again thank you so much and happy holidays to you.
Very sincerely yours,
Jed Christian Sayre
