E.R.I.C. vs CANCER / SPEAK UP SCHOOL PROGRAM

Kit Ultimate Escolar E.R.I.C. HABLA CLARO

Report on the progress of the campaign according to the goals that we have set ourselves to position the E.R.I.C HABLA CLARO message in the Venezuelan school curriculum.

We have in Stock twelve Ultimate School Kit (300 discs and 80 cones) ready to donate.

We carried out E.R.I.C. HABLA CLARO clinics to four community groups benefiting 105 kids. We had the opportunity to take the message to an athletics academy "Esperanza Olímpica" where the receptivity was excellent. Now, the children ask us when they are going to receive another Ultimate class.

Thanks to the partnership of E.R.I.C. Ambassador Venezuela with the University Pedagogical Experimental Libertador "UPEL Maracay" together with the Department of Physical Education, we plan the practice and teaching workshop Ultimate Frisbee aimed at advanced students of the career of Physical Education and Recreation, this activity is running and culminate in June, this workshop is 16 hours academic and is free, in this way the ERIC HABLA CLARO message adds value in the training of teachers who will learn tools for an active lifestyle and healthy habits, fundamental criteria in education about cancer prevention.

We donated five Ultimate School kits, which contain a bag, with 25 discs and 8 cones, the benefited schools are those committed to spreading the E.R.I.C. HABLA CLARO message, already with this sports equipment, strengthens the accompaniment of the PE Teachers who were trained and when the face-to-face classes in Venezuela are restarted due to COVID-19 the Student community will experience the Ultimate School Program, a fun activity that highlights social, athletic values and healthy habits as criteria for education in cancer prevention.

This donation of Ultimate School Kit represents 2681 students who are going to experience a sports activity, learn healthy habits, and awareness about how to beat cancer.

E.R.I.C. Slovenia / High School Ultimate League

Early Recognition is Critical is a non-profit Foundation with a global reach that is why we are going to share what Team E.R.I.C. has done in Slovenia with his High School Ultimate League.

Introduction

Slovenian E.R.I.C. Coaches conducted two clinics during the 2019/20 indoor season. We targeted high school players aged 15-19 that participated in the High School Ultimate League. Our first event was carried out during the second ŠUL tournament.

We focused on teaching rules and introducing E.R.I.C. during our next event in February, after the players have already gained some experience, we talked about the importance of communication through hand signals in ultimate.

Over the 2 days, we conducted workshops with more than 220 participants. Our planned activities for the other tournaments got canceled due to COVID-19 regulations.

High School Ultimate League

High School Ultimate League is Slovenia’s biggest ultimate project. Schools from all over the country participate in indoor tournaments during the winter season.

We continued our program in the 2019/20 season successfully and planned even more tournaments than before, including outdoor ones, but were unable to organize them due to the aforementioned situation.

Early in the school year, coaches of high school teams perform presentations and invite young players to weekly practice. The first tournament is held in November – this year there were a total of over 20 different teams competing (between 120-150 players per tournament).

During each tournament, either E.R.I.C. Coaches or other experienced players hold workshops that focus on building community and Spirit of the Game.

Every tournament is full of surprises and fun activities. At the start of the season, more than 130 E.R.I.C. Speak Up discs were gifted to young players.

Conclusion

E.R.I.C. Coaches introduced important E.R.I.C. and Spirit of the Game concepts to over 150 young Slovenian ultimate players. The players were prompted with interesting questions and were asked to contribute themselves.

This helped build community as they taught, learned from, and connected with players from other teams. We successfully spread E.R.I.C.'s message, Speak Up, and cancer awareness in the Slovenian youth ultimate community.

The Ultimate Charity by E.R.I.C.

CONCEPT:

THE ULTIMATE SURVIVORS TEAM

MISSION:

Promote through social media and through personal connections to find Survivors of Cancer and ask them to Speak Up and tell their story so that they can encourage and speak from a place of truth to inspire and encourage others to be aware of their body and not be afraid or embarrassed to speak up.

The power of speaking up early could save your life and the life of others and when a survivor speaks up it inspires others to realize the importance of recognizing it early as that is prevention.

QUESTIONS:

1. Your name and what cancer you were affected by?

2. How did you find out you had Cancer?

3. What was your 1st emotion and response?

4. What treatments did you go through and struggles you faced during this time?

5. Why is it so important to speak up early when you knew something was wrong?

6. What is your advice about beating cancer?

GOALS AND DONATION:

The goal of the Ultimate Survivors Team is to share inspirational and empowering stories of Cancer Survivors and show that SPEAKING UP and TELLING SOMEONE when something doesn't feel right is a direct way to prevent cancer early and can save your life. The mission through E.R.I.C. and the Documentary Series, The Ultimate Charity, is to inspire and educate viewers on the importance of Speaking Up and being Body Aware.

Money raised will go directly to ERIC IN A BOX, where Middle Schools across America will receive FREE Ultimate Discs with guidelines to teach how to play different games/sports while also providing important Cancer Prevention techniques.
