GlobalGiving report
Empowering Women of Nepal (EWN) since its inception has always encouraged becoming self-supportive, independent, decision-making women. In this process, we have trained the women to become female trekking guides breaking the stereotype that only males can be guides.
During the pandemic, most of our trekking guides were jobless which made them realize to think about other sources of income as well. Due to this many female trekking guides are now learning new skills such as Boutique, Barista, and Mobile repairing so that can they sustain themselves when there is no trekking. Also, one of our guides has just started a new business venture of natural beauty care products.
A female trekking guide of 3 Sisters adventure trekking is currently taking Barista training. She hopes that one day she will start her own business.
Female trekking Guide of 3 Sisters, have taken boutique training where they learned about hand embroidery.
We are going to organize a communication workshop for employees and guides at the end of April 2022. The workshop will include story telling & presentation, photography, and social media handling.
