Since June 2017 when Grameen Ghana joined the GlobalGiving partnership, we continued to advocate for increased access of the poor to quality educational infrastructure and teaching and learning services. The organization continues to engage government and the private sector to play complementary roles to ensure that poor children from deprived communities do not miss out of school. One of the remarkable changes we noticed in the last 2 months is the improvement in teacher attendance in Bolni Primary School as a result of our engagement with the Ghana Education Service on issues of teacher absenteeism.
Our recent visits to the communities revealed that your donation has impacted greatly on the life of Manan and many other children in Bolni Primary School in Northern Ghana. It is so amazing how Manan and her friends are now very happy and believe they will reach their dreams in school. Thanks to your generous gift that was used to provide educational materials including books, pens, pencils, crayons, and school bags to poor children in this School.
In her expression of appreciation, Manan said “this donation is a rare opportunity that has given me hope and confidence to learn more and complete school without difficulty. From today, I do not think I will worry so much about my poor state as an orphan who lacked many thinks to keep me happy in school. I thank all those who have donated to support us. Once my writing improves, I am convinced that my dream of becoming a doctor is getting close to reality.”
It is gratifying that 65 out of 200 targeted children have already received all the educational materials they need to stay in school. Grameen Ghana and the people of Bolni community thank you for being part of the reasons why their children are happy to be in school. There is no doubt that with your continuous support more children will be saved from dropping out of school.
