At Potomac River Clinic, we know that early identification of hearing loss is life-changing. Thanks to your support, we have expanded access to essential diagnostic services for infants in our community. We remain one of the few centers in our region offering Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing for newborns who do not pass their initial hearing screening—and one of the few providers in Washington, DC, that accepts Medicaid.
Demand for ABR testing has continued to grow, and we have worked diligently to keep our average wait time at just eight days—far shorter than the months-long wait times common at other facilities. This comprehensive evaluation, which requires specialized equipment and an audiologist trained in reading and interpreting the results, is a critical step toward an accurate diagnosis and timely intervention.
Because of your generosity, we can provide these critical services at no cost to uninsured families. Your support ensures that more infants receive the early diagnosis and care they need for the best possible start in life.
We are grateful for your partnership in this work. Together, we are changing lives—one diagnostic test at a time. Thank you!
