Dear Donor,
Today, we would like to share with you a story of hardship and resilience – the story of the orphaned child, Mahmoud, and his sister Haneen, who live with their mother in a small tent in Tal al-Daraj camp near Azaz city in northern Syria.
The family lost their father last year due to heart disease, leaving their mother to carry the burden of life alone, struggling every day to provide for her two children. In words filled with pain, Mahmoud's mother says: "We are grateful to have escaped the oppression of the former regime, but we live in constant worry. We don’t have a home to return to, and I don’t have a stable job to provide a steady income. All I wish is to improve my children’s lives and rent a house to shelter us from the harsh cold and scorching heat. But sadly, I am forced to remain in this tent." Her voice breaks as tears stream down her face, speaking louder than any words.
Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to ease some of their struggles by providing a food basket containing essential items such as rice, bulgur, legumes, oil, sugar, tea, canned goods, vegetable ghee, and other necessities to help them endure these harsh conditions.
However, the truth we cannot overlook is that this family, like thousands of other Syrian families, needs more than just a food basket. They need hope, stability, and continuous support to restore their dignity and rebuild their lives.
Your contributions are the lifeline that protects these families from drowning in a sea of suffering. You are the hands that bring smiles to children’s faces and ease the pain of mothers. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for being their beacon of hope in the midst of darkness.
Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of so many!
