INGLES
La Enseñanza Casa de La Ciudad, is an independent cultural center maintained through donations from visitors and the activities held within its facilities. These donations allow us to continue restoring and maintaining the halls to provide better spaces for our cultural and artistic activities.
Our main objective is to create spaces for art and culture in the highlands of Chiapas, working primarily with local communities. Therefore, the team's efforts are focused on the rehabilitation of their spaces, which require special care. These contributions allow us to fulfill this goal.
Currently, five floors of eight classrooms have been restored; the renovation of these floors has been halted due to a lack of resources. The ceilings of the entire main building of La Enseñanza have been refurbished and completed in February. Preventive measures were also taken to preserve the mural paintings located near the ceilings. The ceilings are made of wood, so the beams and all wooden supports were replaced, as well as the damaged tiles. Maintenance was carried out on the main façade, and with the support of restorers, the building's original color scheme was restored. La Enseñanza now has more suitable spaces for its activities.
