Computers for 150 Costa Mesa Elementary Students

The International School for Science and Culture added a Career Technical Education Lab for students in grades 5,6,7 and 8 this year. In order to complete furnishing the lab with the computers needed to support the 12 modules that are going to be available to students, ISSAC utilized your generous contributions and purchased Windows stations and a Mac station. 

The Career Technical Education Lab contains modules as varied as Flight, Mateirals Processing, and Dentistry. These were funded through a Federal/State grant program for startup charter schools. Your contributions to ISSAC through GlobalGiving allowed us to complete furnishing this lab with the general purpose computers needed to utlize the CTE modules. For our students having a hands-on, value-creating real-world experience is nothing short of miraculous in terms of its impact on motivation, focus and confidence-building. We are so grateful to see this shift to an extremely positive mindset even in otherwise less motivated students. 

As we continue to advance in our third year, we are tremendously grateful for your generous support! GlobalGiving has paved for us a great way to not only start, but continue our fundraising journey. ISSAC simply cannot deliver a curriculum of such depth and breadth — that goes well beyond the standard academics to include Social Emotional Learning, and creativity and problem solving skills — without the support of community members like you. Dear ISSAC friends,

We successfully finished the 2020-2021 Academic Year! Thank you so much for all your sincere support for ISSAC behind the scenes. Your contribution is essential for the advancement of our mission of cultivating global citizenship education. 

We would like to give you some updates on what’s been buzzing in the ISSAC community lately! Our online summer programs kicked off on June 21st and will continue through July 30th. The summer school program supports students who were falling behind this past school year and thus need more opportunities for continued academic development. Our students also had the opportunity to join the summer arts program to learn more about music and the visual arts. Thanks to your continued support, students are able to participate in these online programs using the school-provided Chromebook devices. 

As we start the preparations for next year, we are grateful to share that ISSAC is growing in enrollment! In order to accommodate for this growth, we have been able to purchase 200  brand-new NL81 Touch Chromebook devices for the next school year. With the new devices, equipped with more powerful Intel processors, higher powered wifi, and touch screens, students can completely dedicate their time and energy learning from our innovative multicultural curriculum without technical challenges.
