A little more than 4 years ago we first asked for your help to empower a group of women by training them as health leaders. Since then 28 women (and 1 man!) have graduated from the CHL Program, and thanks to their education more than 200 families have been impacted. All thanks to the generous investment begun in 2018!
Our leaders have made changes to their own lifestyles, whether it be cooking more nutritionally, improving hygiene in and around their homes, acknowledging that they are suffering from depression, or making practical changes to improve their mental health.
But they aren’t just keeping these benefits for themselves. During the course each leader visits at least 7 families and shares what they are learning, which means every year we are steadily improving the health of more and more homes throughout the communities of Baitoa. We’ve even had a few students travel from other municipalities in order to take the class!
This year we’re hoping to enroll at least 10 new students in our 10th cohort, and thus reach at least 70 new homes! We currently have 80 leaders, and within two years, we hope to have graduated our 100th CHL! Your continued support is paramount to our success, and we are eternally grateful to you!
