Our friends who helped Ajarn install a new filter
Our friend Ajarn (= teacher) and his wife started their pig farm in Huai Tong during February 2023 with 6 sow and newly constructed pig stalls for the soon-to-be- growing herd. One crucial factor in growing and maintaining a pig farm is a constant and abundant supply of clearn water not only to nurish the herd but also to keep the stalls clean to prevent disease, especially a swine flu breakout.
After running the pig farm for several months, Ajarn noticed his water supply was becoming increasingly dirty and sometimes had a foul smell. After contacting our team, we were able to purchase and reusable sediment / charcoal filter system to install at Ajarn's pig farm. We made the 4.5 hour trip out to Huai Tong Village, Mae Hong Son to assist Ajarn with installing the water filter system and getting his pig herd the water they need - abundant and clean water.
Ajarn reported a healthy drove of piglets was born recently and he is encouraged with the progress of his pig farm.

Clean Water Supply Essential for Healthy Animals
By Rob Rugloski | Project Coordinator

Lahu village of Northern Thailand
Many areas of Thailand are know for the lush vegetation and abundant springs and rivers. However, other parts of Thailand struggle to keep a steady supply of clean water for sanitation and caring for animal herds. Rains are seasonal and there are long periods of time - up to 3 months - when small creeks and the springs of water dry up. In these areas, adequate water supply is essential for health of the people and animals in the village.
We have been meeting with several key leaders in a number of villages of northern Thailand to make plans to increase the storage capacity of the village water supply. We have identified several villages with a critical need for expanding the water storage capacity to make it through the dry season each year.
With the help of a few more generous friends we should be able to implement several of the water expansion projects for the most needy villages in northern Thailand.

Water Filter system for Rural Learning Center
By Rob Rugloski | Training Coordinator
![Learning Center]()
Learning Center
The Mae Pu Luang Learning Center is located about 4 hours northeast of Chiang Mai, Thailand and serves the community in a variety of ways.
Recently the Learning Center hosted a graduation for the Lahu Living Word (LLW) program that helped equip community leaders with the skills they need to serve the families in the villages.
The Learning Center requested a water filter system that would provide clean water for the events held at the center. A team from LLW purchased the equipment with the funds raised thorugh GlobalGiving and installed the system a few weeks before the graduation.
A great success for the village of Mae Pu Luang!
