Many areas of Thailand are know for the lush vegetation and abundant springs and rivers. However, other parts of Thailand struggle to keep a steady supply of clean water for sanitation and caring for animal herds. Rains are seasonal and there are long periods of time - up to 3 months - when small creeks and the springs of water dry up. In these areas, adequate water supply is essential for health of the people and animals in the village.
We have been meeting with several key leaders in a number of villages of northern Thailand to make plans to increase the storage capacity of the village water supply. We have identified several villages with a critical need for expanding the water storage capacity to make it through the dry season each year.
With the help of a few more generous friends we should be able to implement several of the water expansion projects for the most needy villages in northern Thailand.
