Hello, Mulibwanji?
In some parts of the world, girls struggle to access information on what is happening to their bodies and are not sure of where to turn to for advice. In Malawi, the lack of access to menstrual hygiene management products can result in girls being absent from school for up to five days each month.
Building Futures in Malawi through Go for Girls project is training girls in both machine and hand sewing of the reusable feminine pads as a way of promoting menstrual hygiene and keeping girls in school at JANET House orphan care.
Rita, was among the first to be trained at the Orphanage. She was delighted to be part of the team. In her own words Rita said that with this training, I will be able to make the pads on my own. The reusable pads will allow me to keep attending classes even during that time of the month, she said.
BFM continues to work with schools in implementing its projects and lastly I would say thank you for your continued support that you give to BFM and the people of Malawi.
God bless you
