Christmas Giving

Hello Mulibwanji?

I hope you are doing well and your families too. I write to say thank you for the continuous and generous donations that you have been giving us throughout the year you should know that we are so grateful for this. Your donations have made marvelous impacts towards the education of so many children and young people in different communities in our country.

Just to mention a few we have been able to continue to support 30 students in 3 different secondary schools by paying their school and examinations fees, donated teaching and learning materials almost every month to 4 different schools, trained163 girls in hand sewing different items and reached out to 450 girls through our girl talk session where we discussed issues that affected their life and managed to support them so that they can be able to go to school and have a better future, we introduced them to different mentors and role models so that they can have someone to look up to and be motivated to reach their goals, we were also able to support different sporting activities in schools through donation of footballs and netballs so that students can actively be involved in sporting activities in their respective schools. These are just a few things we have been able to achieve through your support this year so you have to know that any penny/cent that you have given to us, it has changed/improved somebodies life for the better. During this years Christmas we are doing a fundraising campaign towards our 2024 budget, we hope to raise $20,000 and we believe that you will be able to take part in helping us raise the funds needed. Second Term report

Hello Mulibwanji?

During the last quarter of the 2022/2023 academic year, Building Futures in Malawi continued to support the provision of quality education in Malawi through Minor grants; a project that focuses on building and renovating libraries as well as donating the teaching and learning materials to schools.

The project is being implemented in all the schools that we work with including Kaps Satellite library located in area 36 and serves about 400 people from the surrounding communities in each day. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and well-equipped environment for studying.

ACTIVITIES

The third and last term in the 2022/2023 academic year just ended. In this term, we donated syllabus books, supplementary books as well as storybooks to Chiwamba, Mseche and Minga Community Day Secondary Schools as well as Kaps model school. A total of 135 books was donated. All this has been achieved because of the financial support which well-wishers like you rendered to us, God bless you for being part of a life changing journey!

NEXT STEPS

Our plan is to continue supporting schools and libraries in the 2023/2024 academic year beginning in September, 2023 and raise funds to resume with the extension project of the library which has been on hold for some time due to a lack of funding.

ACHIEVEMENTS

- Donated 45 syllabus books to three schools

- Donated 50 supplementary books to three schools

- Donated 40 story books to the Children’s library section at Kaps

CHALLENGES

- Schools lack stationery for teaching and learning activities

- Regardless of the books we donated, there is still need for more

- There are no enough desks in schools for instance; Mkanthama school which registered 95 students only has 20 desks

CONCLUSION

Building Futures in Malawi would like to THANK YOU for the endless support. If it were not for you, it was not possible for us to donate 135 books to schools. Together we can improve the quality of education in Malawi.

Welcome to 2023

Hello Muli bwanji?

I do believe that you had a good holiday and that you are doing fine. 2022 was a tough year for the most of us but we thank God we made it to 2023 and I believe that God is going to continue to bless us and keep us safe and in good health this new year.

Firstly I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to our loyal supporters who have continued to enable us to transform lives in Malawi. If it were not for you, we could not do it.

In 2022 we trained 200 girls in reusable sanitary pads sewing and also donated menstrual hygiene kits to 150 girls in schools and communities, enabled 30 of the most vulnerable students in Chiwamba, Minga and Mseche Community Day Secondary Schools to get the chance to education through the student support bursary program. We were also able to support the schools with sports resources, teaching and learning materials. Mkanthama School’s now has some desks in 2 classroom blocks.

Together, we can achieve more in 2023. Our plan is to continue supporting 30 vulnerable students with school fees that cost 10 pounds a term and 30 pounds a full academic year for each student. Mkanthama school constructions also needs to be completed as we need more desks, window glasses and cement floor. Go for Girls project plans to train 500 girls in sewing and reach out to 2000 girls in communities with menstrual hygiene kits. Minor grants also plans to continue supporting schools with 500 instructional materials and we also plan to continue supporting and promoting sports in schools lastly we are hopeful that we will finally launch our education environment project in all 8 schools that we work with.

In 2023 we are launching our Volunteer program to individuals both in Universities and those willing to come to Malawi and do different volunteer work in the schools that we work in and also travel and see the beauty of our country.

Lastly I just wish everyone you and your family a Happy and blessed New Year and it is my prayer that we will all work together to make sure that the youth in Malawi will have access to equal, better and quality education and all this will depend on your continued support that you give to our charity.
