Football Team in Rashidieh Camp

The football team in Rashidieh camp, consisting of 13 children, continues its regular training sessions under the guidance of their coach. The team meets weekly, promoting discipline, teamwork, and personal growth among its members.

Sports offer a range of benefits, including enhancing teamwork, improving both mental and physical health, reducing stress, and boosting self-confidence. A key focus of Jafra work is closing the gap in opportunities for children and youth to continue pursuing sports and develop their athletic potential.

This project is long-term in nature, as the teams rotate frequently with children growing into teens and eventually adults. Jafra is committed to sustaining and expanding these efforts to support the continued engagement and development of youth in the camp.

As more children and youth join the football initiative, fewer are left to navigate the challenges of life in the narrow streets of the refugee camps. Jafra is dedicated to sustaining this program long-term, aiming to amplify its benefits for both individuals and the broader community.

By promoting sports, Jafra aspires to foster a sense of commitment and engagement among camp residents, encouraging active participation in community activities. This approach not only strengthens social bonds but also helps reduce reliance on negative coping mechanisms, particularly among the youth, by providing them with a positive and constructive outlet.
