So Much Has Already Happened in 2022!!

By Jen Naskov | Executive Director

The first quarter of 2022 has been amazing!  We realized very quickly after opening The JOY Home, that we were going to need a better option for transporting the children.  So, at the end of last year, we sent out a request for help and the amazing friends of Lighthouse of Hope came through in a really big way!

In January, we were able to purchase a 9 passenger bus, that has a wheelchair lift! It's awesome!  And, with the additional gifts, we were able to have a driveway installed - which was great, since getting in and out had become a problem in the ice, snow, and rain.  Just last week, the driveway install was complete, and we have already made great use of it!

We have had a lot of fun, in the beautiful Spring weather, blowing bubbles, picking dandilions, and going for walks to the road and watching the tractors drive by.  Thank you!

We are currently at capacity with 8 children who come on a weekly basis to receive attachment, communication, and physical therapies - all under the umbrella of PLAY!!  We laugh, dance, sing, read stories, and have lots of fun.  The response we have received from the nurses and orphanage director has been very positive, and they have requested that we open additonal spots for more children.

We are working on developing a plan to grow, and will hopefully be able to finish the small house across the street as a physical and occupational therapy annex, to give us more space for children.

We are excited, encouraged, and super enthusiastic!  And we are so grateful for your partnership.
